Sorégies has developed a Floating PV in France.

The renewable energy unit of SorĂ©gies, Sergies, has completed a 27 MW floating PV array on a quarry owned by GSM in Nouvella-Aquitaine, France. The project was constructed by French contractor GSM.

The solar panels are removable and recyclable. VMH Energies supplied the PV modules and assembled the solar panels. This plant will produce more than 3.3 GWh of electricity per year, Sergies said.

Residents of several local municipalities supported the project with a crowdfunding effort, raising €150,000.

Sergies said if all the artificial lakes in France hosted PV systems, the needs of 3 million homes will be met.
