Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria through the support from the Global Fund, sponsor hospitals in powering the geneXpert machine with a 5.98kwh solar system.

Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria a non-governmental organization that focuses on HIV/AIDS related problems in Nigeria through the support from the Global Fund, Seen the benefits of constant electricity in their field decide to go solar and also funds hospitals in different states in Nigeria in powering the geneXpert machine with a 5.98kwh solar system, the geneXpert machine is a machine that detect mycobacterium tuberculosis in a sample of sputum and with much information the machine can't work without much ventilation in the lab

This fund  include the provision of a 5 5KVa inverter, inverter batteries, solar panel, charge controller, inverter Air Conditioner
and solar refrigerator depending on the need assessment done per site. This is meant to provide 12 hours power
supply off national grid and to maintain a cool ambient temperature for optimal performance of the machine.

Nigeria has set a target of expanding electricity access to 75 percent of the population by 2020 and 90 percent by 2030.

THE Senate, on his daily work hours was interviewed on the progress of electricity in Nigeria, he stated that the Federal Government did not allocated a Kobo to Mambila Power Project in the 2021 Budget

The Mambila Power Project was designed to help improve power generation and supply in Nigeria.

Mambila hydropower project is a 3.0GW hydroelectric facility on the Dingo River in Kakara Village in Taraba State and it is with 85% investment from China while the remaining 15% is expected to be supplied by Nigeria making the country aims to generate 30 percent of its total energy from renewable sources by 2030, Over the past year, the country has invested more than $20 billion in solar power projects especially In hospitals (in powering the geneexpert used in the lab), seeking to boost the capacity of the national grid and reduce reliance on it by building mini-grids in rural areas without mains electricity.
We all know hospitals have plenty of roof space, as they are large buildings. We also know hospitals have places that need steadfast electricity, like the laboratory venue where tests are done on clinical specimens in order to get information about the health of a patient as pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

On a global scale, with healthcare and the environment currently top of mind, it is worth taking a moment to acknowledge an important point made by the United Nations Development Programme. 800 million people live without electricity worldwide. As mentioned before, hospitals critically rely on electricity. In areas where there is no power, proper healthcare services cannot be provided. With universal healthcare deemed a human right by many, and becoming more of a common concept, solar energy can also benefit the pursuit of universal healthcare. Solar energy is an environmentally friendly way of providing energy to hospitals all over the world, so no person worry about a lack of healthcare capacity.
