The solar connections scheme is a federal government initiative whose objective are:
- Expand energy access to 25million individual
- Increase local content in the off grid solar value chain and facilitate the growth of the local manufacturer and assembly industry
- incentivize the creation of 250, 000 new job in the energy sector
- Finally, the intervention facility from the CBN will complement to FG's effort of providing affordable electricity to unserved rural communities through the provision of long-time low interest credit facilities to Nigeria Electrification project pre-qualified SHS distributor and mini grid development companies
